Help with this novel I am writing?

I'm not of Asian background but I think there could be very important lessons about family regardless of one's back ground and ethnic culture. the second story should be about acceptance. what I got from that is the grandmother did not accept the American but when she returned she accepted the American in her family. Third story, I think I may be on to something because I've dealt with two deaths of two loved ones and what I learned that life is too precious to go by and you don't realize how important that loved one is until you lose them and that you should cherish your loved ones who are still around. they are hear today but they might be gone by tomorrow
